What we're building

One game live and patched weekly. One in development that I care about far too much.

Live now · Season 7 Multiplayer roguelike · Browser

Cosmic Sloths

Pilot heroic sloths through a neon cosmos. Fight, loot, upgrade, ascend.

A browser-native survivors-like: 3–12 minute runs, ten pilots, twenty-three weapons and a build to assemble before the sector boss finds you. Bank the loot, upgrade in the Hub, form a squad, and climb a server-validated ladder that only rewards skill.

  • 10 pilots · 23 weapons · 20 sectors
  • Squads, Squad Wars and weekly ladders
  • Free to play — no install, desktop & mobile

Cosmic Ember

The map is dark. Your light is the only thing that reveals it — and the only thing the dark can find.

A factory-builder with a tower-defence heart, where light is the whole game. You are Vela, the one who kept the list when a great ship came down at the cold edge of the galaxy and fourteen people walked away from it. A year on, the ember is lit, the outpost stands, twelve are still alive — and the colony is going back out into the dark. Light is territory: you build only where the fire reaches, and the map beyond it is fog you burn away one beacon at a time. Light is also heat, and heat is what the dark can smell — the brighter you burn, the harder the things out there come for it.

  • The map is dark — your light reveals it, and gives you away
  • A factory that arms itself: belts carry ingots to the guns that hold the line
  • Supply lines are the tower defence: a gun with no ammo is a statue

The Studio

A player who started building

SlowBurn Studio is a solo operation born in the OMENX community. I was a player first — then built Cosmic Sloths for the community, and the game grew into a whole cosmic universe of sloths, pilots and hungry nebulae. SlowBurn is where that universe lives now: small studio, big galaxy, community at the centre. More games in the same stars are already on the way.

🤝

Community at the centre

I was a player in the OMENX community before I was a developer in it, and Cosmic Sloths was built for the people I was playing alongside. The Discord isn't a support queue — it's the design room. Most of what's good in the game started as somebody's complaint.

⏱️

The game bends around your session

A Cosmic Sloths run is 3–12 minutes and every one of them moves you forward. Cosmic Ember is the opposite — a colony you grow over hours, which is exactly why the world stops dead the moment you need to think. Different clocks, same rule: the game fits your evening, not the other way round.

🌐

The browser is the console

Every game here runs in a tab, on desktop and mobile, with nothing to download. Distribution shouldn't be a wall between a player and a good idea.

Back the person making the games

SlowBurn is one person. If the games are worth something to you, a tip covers servers and buys the time that goes into the next one — completely separate from anything in-game.

Press, partnerships, or just a good idea

I read everything. The studio Discord is where the design actually happens — most of what's good in these games started as somebody's complaint.
